Tommy leads “Mosaics: Muslim Voices In America,” a two-year project focusing on exploring the diverse artistic voices of Muslims in the United States.


Tommy Hensel has been the Managing Director of the Fine and Performing Arts Center at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, IL (a southwestern suburb of Chicago) since 2008. He is currently the project director for “Mosaics: Muslim Voices In America,” a two-year grant funded project focusing on the exploration of the diverse artistic voices of Muslims in the United States of America.

Tommy serves as Chair of the Illinois Presenters Network and is a board member of NAPAMA (North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents). He is a native of Columbia, South Carolina, and has worked for more than 30 years as a professional actor, singer, stage manager and director. He holds a B.A. in music and a B.A. in communication from Florida State University and an M.A. in theater from the University of South Carolina.
