Sarah Cochran's current work in legislation involves training minority (American Muslim) communities in advocacy, educating lawmakers and constituents on legislative priorities and policy issues, preparing briefs for legislative hearings, and building relationships with elected officials. She is a conflict analysis and transformation professional, specializing in the combined application of conflict management and transformation skills with traditional media and New Media tools. As a routine collaborator with the US Army’s Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (PSKOI), Ms. Cochran provides real time solutions to post conflict challenges faced by the US military. She also serves as a supervisor at the US Department of State’s IREX exchange program to host, manage and train international Fellows from the Community Solutions Program in practical skills for implementation upon return to native countries. Ms. Cochran mediates for the Transportation Security Administration by providing alternative dispute resolution in the workplace for the Department of Homeland Security.
