Kristen Looney brings her background as a clergy and chaplain to her current work promoting civil discourse and interfaith relations.


Kristen Looney serves as Director of the Religious Freedom Center of the Newseum Institute. From 2012 to 2016, she was the head of programs and partnerships for the Tony Blair Faith Foundation in the United States. Previously, Ms. Looney served as chaplain and department chair of religious studies at St. Paul’s School for Girls in Baltimore, Maryland and St. Timothy’s School in Stevenson, Maryland. Prior, Ms. Looney served as clergy in parishes in Florida, California, and New York. She is an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Maryland. Ms. Looney is an awarded graduate of Yale Divinity School (M.Div.), and is an honors graduate from the College of Wooster (B.A.)
